Yala Yala Midwifery School
Yala Yala Midwifery School was formed in direct response to a need for quality midwifery education that focused on meeting competencies for the midwifery model of care (as defined by ICM) and graduating passionate community-oriented midwives who are trained to manage the complexities of reproductive care in East Africa.
Our 3-year program involves didactic training as well as direct clinical mentorship at birth center partners around Uganda. Graduates are eligible for licensure in Uganda and prepared to be leaders in the field.
For more information and to apply to the Yala Yala Midwifery School please submit this inquiry form and a staff member will follow up with you shortly.
Partners in education include Makarere School of Nursing and Yale School of Nursing.
East African midwives who are already practicing can apply for a funded mentorship in the Midwifery Model of care at the MHI clinic in Atiak.
